That’s how Weirton Elementary School in Weirton, W. V. is embracing and tackling One School, One Book this fall of 2016. They’re reading The Enormous Egg. The entire town – students of all grades, the administration, the townspeople – are wearing Weirton’s RED (Read Every Day) t-shirts. The mayor issued a special proclamation exhorting everyone to participate. The president of the University of West Virginia read the first chapter via YouTube. They’re creating a city-wide culture of literacy. And their elementary school families will surely read more after they close the book on The Enormous Egg.
