Read. Every. Day.

That’s how Weirton Elementary School in Weirton, W. V. is embracing and tackling One School, One Book this fall of 2016.  They’re reading The Enormous Egg.  The entire town – students of all grades, the administration, the townspeople – are wearing Weirton’s RED (Read Every Day) t-shirts.  The mayor issued a special proclamation exhorting everyone to participate.  The president of the University of West Virginia read the first chapter via YouTube.  You can see more by keeping up with Denise Miller’s extensive Tweeting.  Weirton is going gaga for The Enormous Egg, and One School, One Book, and family literacy.  They’re creating a city-wide culture of literacy.  And their elementary school families will surely read more after they close the book on The Enormous Egg.
