We can’t wait to see the progress students, families, and schools make next week. Thanks to everyone for your hard work!

One Richmond, One Book on the radio!

Read to Them is busy getting the word out about our city-wide reading event One Richmond, One Book. Executive Director, John Dwyer went on the air this week with Kat Simons of Mix 98.1.

John reveals the One Richmond, One Book title as Friendship According to Humphrey. He explains, “[Humphrey] has a lot of fun adventures in the book – engages with the students and has a lot of lessons for us about friendship”.

Kat and John discuss the positive impact that One Richmond, One Book has the potential to make. John says , “All of the approximately 13,000 children in Richmond public elementary schools will be receiving a copy of Friendship According to Humphrey and then we’ll ask everyone to read with us. We’ll do this as an entire city and we’ll kick this off October 22nd. ”

John knows that this program will not only help to form a bridge between the home and the school, but knows that students will learn a lot from Friendship According to Humphrey.
