Since last spring, our entire school has excitedly embraced the One School, One Book Program. We will soon begin our spring selection: A Cricket in Times Square -- the third book we've adopted since the spring of 2010!

2. Scrounging troves. Tucker Mouse’s scrounging reminds me not a little of Templeton the rat’s scrounging in Charlotte’s Web. But I can remember saving lots of little bits and doodads as a child. I am sure I was not alone. I am sure many kids still do that – saving little stuff in proverbial cigar boxes. Invite them to bring their troves to school and share and explain the stories behind some of their treasures.

6. Have a Tucker Mouse swap meet. Let kids bring in their small doodad treasures – from baseball cards and doll brushes to bottle caps and what have you. Let them trade.
